Dessulfurização de Biogás por Adsorção e Tecnologias de Oxidação Química

Desulphurization is one of the most important steps of biogas purification and consists of removing hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from the methane-rich gas stream. The direct feed of biogas with high concentrations of sulphur (H2S) in power generators may lead to severe damage by corrosion in the internal parts of the generator and release sulphur oxides (SOX) in the exhaust gases of the combustion chamber. The consequences are high costs of operation and maintenance, in addition to severe environmental impacts.

Our approach to developing processes with new low-cost adsorbent materials consisted of testing different properties such as adsorption capacity and regenerability in our facilities. With the results obtained, we have proposed synthesis routes to enhance the most attractive properties of new materials. The potential users of the guide are biomethane suppliers, plant engineering companies, and research institutes that work on the development of materials for biogas upgrade.
